A tragic story.

.. A tragic story unfolded in Mboki last month, following the death of a young pregnant woman during her transfer to the hospital in Obo, in the Haut-Mbomou region. Without an ambulance or surgeon available, she succumbed to the conditions of her transfer. Lacking an ambulance and a suitable vehicle, her family had no choice but to place the expectant mother on the back of a motorcycle taxi to reach the hospital in Obo. The journey was horrific, on a dilapidated road that forced people to travel for hours to cover short distances. As a result, the young woman's body succumbed to the jolting and exhaustion. She died after only 30 kilometers on the dirt track. This tragedy highlights the dilapidated state of the roads and a healthcare system that is abandoning its citizens. In Mboki, the lack of basic infrastructure condemns the sick to either exile or death. While rural populations perish in silence, the state prioritizes colossal expenditures for its political survival. The country's mineral wealth, particularly gold and diamonds, is extracted for the benefit of foreign Russian paramilitary groups. And while the provinces are dying, the other one talks to us about his 7th Republic. A sad story, as we said...
