Hilaire Momi Returns

A legend of Central African football is back on the pitch at Lakouanga, going through his paces: Hilaire Momi, 37, has returned to Bangui. His career has taken him across the Central African Republic (Sica Sport and DFC8), France (Le Mans), Cameroon (Coton Sport de Garoua and Union de Douala), Mali (Stade Malien), and Morocco (Raja Casablanca). He was frequently his club's top scorer and holds the record as the national team's all-time leading scorer, cementing his status as an iconic figure in Central African football. Trained in Bangui and boasting a career spanning over twenty years, Hilaire Momi now finds himself on his own and without a club. He is making a quiet return to the pitches of Bangui. While he has not officially announced his retirement, age is taking its toll; he now aims to put his experience to use by becoming a coach.
