Launch of an association for orphans in Bangui

Official launch of a new support association for orphans, coupled with the distribution of kits to orphans. This association is called "Hope and Future", and it was on Saturday, October 3 in Nzila, in the sub-prefecture of Bangui-Fleuve, on the road to Mbaïki. As mentioned, orphans – in this case, about twenty orphans from the "Espoir et Avenir" association – received school kits for the 2026-2027 school year. These kits consist of food and non-food items, including rice, notebooks, bags, stylBon Mercredios, pencils and school supplies. Priscilla Zembrou, an orphan who would like to become a lawyer at the end of her studies, is very satisfied: "I am really happy for this gesture. Personally, I didn’t expect that, but today, God has put it in the hearts of these donors to come and support us. I thank these people from the bottom of my heart for their gratitude to us."
It should be noted that in some families or foster homes, orphaned children are mistreated and sometimes accused of being thieves or sorcerers by their guardians. Added to this, moral and physical tortures that make the social situation of children precarious. Many are forced to drop out of school for lack of support. In the face of abuse and domestic violence, children are forced to go out into the streets to survive. And there, they are totally exposed to risks that can cost them their lives.
In view of these calamities, Soulé Théotime, the patron of the event, points out that these children did not choose to be orphans, but that they are in this situation independently of their will. This is what pushed him to come to their aid. "In the district of Bimbo, we realized that there are vulnerable children. And when the coordinator came to see me to give a hand to this association, I did not doubt, because I understood that children did not ask to be born and to be orphans. Through this association, we will initiate projects and approach the government for the protection of vulnerable children in our neighborhoods."
For André Goengonda, coordinator of the said association: "First of all, I am happy for the success of what we had started on April 5, 2026. My ambitions for this organization are to help these children in the areas of health and education, to take into account their future, as our slogan emphasizes. We have difficulty supporting these children properly and we do not have a partner per se to help us with our vision. We move forward with what little we have. That is why I appeal to people of goodwill to assist us in supporting these children who are the future of tomorrow."
Note that the number of children is increasing day by day in the capital’s avenues, while the authorities’ silence is deafening.
